Risha Engineering Group provided extensive seismic and structural evaluation services for four California food bank facilities. The firm performed an ASCE 41-17, Tier 2, structural engineering assessment of existing structures. This included performing structural analyses, site investigations, non-destructive and destructive testing to determine existing structural materials for building without as-build drawings. The purpose of the structural assessments was to provide the food banks with the structural information required to complete a FEMA Benefit-Cost Analysis.

The project also included designing a conceptual retrofit scheme and preparing a construction cost estimate to address the structural deficiencies determined from the seismic evaluation. The concept retrofit schemes conform with both the ASCE 41-17 and the International Existing Building Code (IEBC) post-retrofit performance standards.
