Ely, Nevada City Hall
The historic Ely City Hall, constructed in 1928, is a two-story structure of unreinforced masonry bearing wall construction. A study was conducted to determine the building’s ability to withstand seismic events that may occur in the region. Risha Engineering’s goal was to determine whether seismic retrofit is needed and what may be required. Using ASCE 41-13 standard, the building was evaluated using the Tier 1 method and based on the Life Safety criteria.
