East Union Court- Multi-family Development

In the cusp of the 134 and 210 freeways, the new East Unions Condominiums bring 40 residential units and 3,400 square feet of retail space to the architecturally quaint city, just outside of “Old Town” Pasadena. Emphasis was placed on the architectural features of this structure given the beautiful and historic face of Pasadena, and the building will be adorned with terra cotta finishes, tile accents, wood trellises and metal balconies. This 60,000 square foot superstructure has subterranean parking and supported by a concrete podium with the upper stories of wood framing. Based on the architectural wall layout, structural steel moment frame systems were required at the retail area. The development varies in height from 2-4 stories and has street access for the outer lying units. To promote community within the development, at ground floor there are 2 open-air courtyards with trees, one with an outdoor kitchen, a community room, and fitness area. Risha Engineering is providing complete structural and civil design and construction period services.
